Really happy with the purchase and the salt cell (RC-52 / PPC4) is performing well. I bought both cell and new cable and really happy the way it is performing now.
Obviously being a OEM part, it works and fits exactly as it should. It was pretty easy to replace. There are YouTube videos of course. I found it easier to remove the assembly it goes into, and turn it upside down on the ground, so I could press the new unit into place by pressing down against a firm surface.
The pool pilot was saying there was low flow, and shutting off the salt cell, but I was pretty sure there was actually plenty of flow. The company that installed the pool and usually does my maintenance wanted to replace the cell, and didn’t really take me seriously when I suggested it might be the sensor. So I replaced it myself and everything works as it is supposed to. Saved me at least $1500.
The chat line was incredibly helpful. They couldn’t of course guarantee my diagnosis was correct, but they did confirm that the sensor functions as I had guessed, and the diagnosis was at least reasonable. Changing the least expensive part first seems like a no-brained to me.
There was a crack in the first one I received and they sent me another one right away. Great service and very nice people.
