AquaCal Fan Motor - 1/4 HP 825 RPM - ECS0075

Perfect fit, did not use optical second cap, modified old cable grommet/wire sheathing end. Secured to new motor with epoxy and hot glue. New motor is quite and runs well.

Service was good and motor is excellent. Problems: AquaCal revised the fan a few years ago, and switched the fan for my heat pump from ECS0110 to ECS 0075. The newer model requires a different capacitor (5mfd/440V) compared to the old fan (7.5mfd/370V) and the fan does not come with a capacitor. Be sure to check.

This motor was an excellent replacement for the 18 year old fan motor in my AquaCal heat pump. The motor was packaged in a well thought out protective manner and received undamaged. The wiring was different than that of the existing motor, but did not present a problem at all as the motor has a label which has two different ways to tie it in to the heat pumps wiring. I chose the "option" method as it was similar to the original which was three wire + ground. Since the new motor has 5 wires, all I had to different was insulate and secure the brown with white line wire. No extra parts such as a capacitor are required. It runs smooth & quiet just like it should. Additionally, the tech folks were available to answer any questions & provide guidance should it be needed and the phone number is clearly indicated on the package with a large label that you can't miss. I couldn't ask for any more than that & would purchase this again as well as recommend it to friends and family.

This motor was an exact replacement in all aspects EXCEPT the wiring.
My original motor had only three wires plus ground, and this new one has 4 plus ground. The additional wire in the motor is brown with a white stripe that was actually not needed in my case. This new motor also has one wire that is white and on my old motor, that was yellow. Luckily I have the original schematic for my heat pump and was able to interpret. The diagram on the motor is a little confusing. The packaging on the box and the representative then answer the phone told me I had to call aqua Cal for support, and when I did the guy on that phone acted like he thought I was a commercial installer, and actually sounded confused by my questions and then gave me the wrong advice on how to wire it. That was a little disappointing by both companies. All that is needed is a clearer explanation of the new wiring to cross reference with the old wiring and a more easier to understand diagram. When you were in a hurry to get your heat pump up and running, you’re also not in the mood to wait for two days to get through to the aqua Cal people anyway.
Once I figured out the wiring and got it in place luckily, everything was fine.

Received motor thur UPS and package open and missing capacitor.
Called and spoke to Tammy, she was understanding and expedited a new motor and capacitor to me. She is also handling the UPS claim.

It was a pleasure dealing with her and she removed all the stress of dealing with the problem.

In todays political environment of people not wanting to work to get a head it was a pleasure to deal with your employee and company. Hold on to her she’s a good one
